Ben Saves a Duck

Ben, our Stewardship guy at NCNR, saved a duck today. The duck had gone after a fishing lure hanging from a tree and had it stuck through his bill. The river's current was pushing him away from his trap; he was frantically trying to get loose. Ben got a hold of the wriggling creature, pulled the lure from his beak and set him back in the river. Henry said that bird ducked under the water and scooted off at top speed. Ben the mighty duck saver.

Meanwhile, the crew also fished a kiddie pool out of the river and set it up on the bank for pick up later. Real nice. You really would not believe the stuff people purposely throw in the river -- as if once it flows on out of their sight, it's no longer their responsibility.
Crazy asshats...
